Abstract

Acquired perforating dermatosis is a rare condition characterized by transepidermal elimination of dermal material, often associated with systemic diseases such as diabetes and chronic kidney disease. We report a 77-year-old man with type II diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and amiodarone-induced hypothyroidism who developed generalized pruritus and papular skin lesions. Histopathological findings confirmed the diagnosis of acquired perforating dermatosis. Secondary bacterial infection was treated with systemic antibiotics. Management focused on discontinuation of potent topical corticosteroids and initiation of targeted therapy for underlying atopic diathesis, underscoring the importance of individualized multidisciplinary care.
