Ticino medical tribune (TMT) follows the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in preparing material for publication.
When submitting a manuscript, authors must indicate whether they used any AI-assisted tools, such as large language models, chatbots, or image generators, to create any part of their work. If such tools were used, the cover letter and the manuscript itself must describe which technologies were employed and what specific content they generated.
Since authors are fully accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their submissions, AI tools cannot be credited as authors.
All AI-generated material should be thoroughly checked and edited by the authors to ensure that no incorrect, incomplete, or biased information is submitted under the appearance of authority.
Authors must confirm that the AI-produced content does not contain any plagiarized text or images, and that any quoted or borrowed material is properly cited and attributed.
AI-generated content cannot be cited as an original or primary source.
