Long-term digital preservation
Ticino Medical Tribune adopts measures to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published scholarly content.
The journal uses several digital archiving systems to ensure the permanent preservation of its articles:
- PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) – The journal uses the digital preservation service provided by the Public Knowledge Project for journals operating on Open Journal Systems (OJS). PKP PN ensures secure archiving and long-term preservation of published content through a distributed network of digital archives.
- Institutional repository – Articles may be deposited and preserved in the institutional repository of the affiliated institution, ensuring additional accessibility and long-term preservation.
- Public archives and open access repositories – Authors are permitted to deposit versions of their articles in disciplinary or institutional repositories without embargo, in accordance with the journal’s open access policy.
- Internet archiving – Published content is made accessible through public archiving platforms and services that help ensure the long-term availability of the material.
Ticino Medical Tribune is also working toward making its content available through PubMed Central (PMC) in order to further strengthen the long-term preservation and dissemination of the scientific literature it publishes.
These measures ensure that all published articles remain accessible, preserved, and retrievable over time, even in the event of changes to the journal’s editorial platform or website.
